About This Access Site
The La Valle Mill Pond ramp is the primary public access point for paddling the Baraboo River in this area, located on the west end of La Valle in Sauk County. This is a convenient put-in for kayakers and canoeists looking to paddle a scenic section of the river downstream toward Lake Redstone. The ramp provides standard vehicle and boat access to the water.

**Parking Note:** Do not park directly at the boat ramp itself. Instead, park at the nearby bike park parking area located one block north, near the 400 bike trail trailhead, then walk to the ramp. This arrangement helps manage traffic and access at the landing. The Baraboo River in this section offers a nice paddling experience for recreational boaters and paddlers of various skill levels, with opportunities to take out near Lake Redstone downstream.
