**Location & Access:** The State Boat Ramp at Lake Attitash is located at the end of Attitash Avenue in Merrimac, Essex County. From Route 495 (Exit 53), take a right off the ramp, then right onto Route 110—the lake will be on your left. The facility includes a concrete launch ramp and parking lot with capacity for 21-40 vehicles, making it suitable for both kayaks and canoes as well as motorized boats.
**Amenities & Services:** This publicly maintained access point, developed by the Massachusetts Office of Fishing and Boating Access, provides direct water access to Lake Attitash. During summer months, volunteer monitors are typically present to inspect boats for invasive aquatic weeds and provide local information. The concrete ledge on one side of the ramp assists with loading and unloading gear.
**Nearby Recreation:** Paddlers and boaters can enjoy the primary water access around Lake Attitash itself. The area is also within easy reach of the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge (4,700+ acres of diverse habitats) and the broader Essex National Heritage Area, which encompasses 500 square miles of scenic eastern Massachusetts coastline and waterways worth exploring.
