The Lake Carlos East access point is located on the north shore of this 2,605-acre glacially-carved lake in Douglas County, Minnesota. This boat ramp is suitable for a variety of watercraft, including larger boats and pontoons, making it a popular spot for boaters and anglers. The ramp is conveniently positioned near the lower campground area, providing easy access to the water.
Lake Carlos offers excellent conditions for paddling and boating with clear waters and a maximum depth of 163 feet. Most standard boat ramps here can accommodate 12-18 foot boats, with some capable of handling larger vessels. There are no launch fees at this access point unless you're using facilities within Lake Carlos State Park, which may require a vehicle permit. The surrounding area features scenic woodlands, marshes, and a tamarack bog, making it an attractive destination for a full day of water recreation including paddling, fishing, and swimming.
