About This Access Site
Lake Cavanaugh's public access site is located on the southwest shore near the south end of this 833-acre lake in Mount Vernon, Skagit County. The gravel boat ramp can accommodate two boats launching simultaneously and provides ample parking for vehicles and trailers. A restroom facility is available on-site. Note that the access area does not currently have ADA-accessible accommodations.

This scenic lake offers excellent fishing opportunities for Coastal Cutthroat Trout, Kokanee, Rainbow Trout, and resident Largemouth Bass, making it popular with anglers. Kayakers and canoeists will find a calm, large body of water suitable for paddling, with nearby hiking trails available for those interested in combining water and land-based recreation. The calm conditions typical of this mountain lake make it accessible for paddlers of varying skill levels.
