Lake Chelan State Park offers a well-maintained 16-foot wide concrete boat ramp on the south shore of this scenic alpine lake in central Washington. The ramp is open to kayaks, canoes, motorboats, and sailboats, though personal watercraft (PWCs) are prohibited. Note that lake levels fluctuate seasonally, so check current water conditions before launching. The park operates seasonally with extended summer hours (6:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.) and shorter winter hours (8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.).
This is an excellent hub for both day trips and extended paddling adventures. The park provides camping facilities and day-use amenities including swimming, fishing, hiking, and biking. A major draw for paddlers is access to the Lake Chelan ferry service, which connects to the roadless community of Stehekin at the lake's north end—making it a gateway for multi-day kayaking and camping expeditions. Moorage is available for $12/night with a campsite reservation.
