About This Access Site
The North Landing at Lake Chicot State Park is the recommended boat ramp for accessing this 2,000-acre lake in Evangeline Parish. This developed facility provides a boat launch and dock, making it ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The site is easily accessible via LA 106 and offers a less crowded alternative to the busier south-side ramps, with additional amenities including a meeting room and barbecue pavilion for day visitors.

Lake Chicot is known for its clear water and scenic natural environment, featuring cypress and tupelo gum trees draped in Spanish moss. Paddlers launching from the north ramp can access an established water trail that winds through the scenic lake system, offering excellent wildlife viewing opportunities including various birds and amphibians. The peaceful, maze-like water trail creates a unique paddling experience through pristine natural forest. Lake Chicot State Park is open year-round and offers overnight accommodations if you plan an extended visit.
