The Lake Clay Public Boat Ramp on the east side provides convenient access to Lake Clay, a popular paddling destination in the Lake Placid area of Highlands County. Located at 1650 Lake Clay Drive, this ramp serves kayakers, canoeists, and other small watercraft. Lake Clay offers opportunities to explore a quiet lake environment with mostly undeveloped shoreline, making it suitable for recreational paddling and fishing.
This is one of two public boat ramps providing access to Lake Clay—a companion ramp is located on the west side of the lake at 1300 Lake Clay Drive. The east-side location is easily accessible by traveling east on County Road 762 for approximately 0.5 mile before turning to the ramp. The relatively undeveloped nature of the lake's shoreline and limited development around the water body make it an appealing destination for paddlers seeking a more natural setting. Nearby paddlers may also be interested in exploring the Lake Wales Ridge National Wildlife Refuge in the region.
