Located just 4 miles south of Jamestown off US 127, the Pumpkin Creek boat ramp at Lake Cumberland State Park provides convenient access to this large reservoir on the northern shore. The ramp is part of the 3,117-acre state park facility and offers a straightforward launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. Handicapped-accessible facilities are available at the nearby State Dock Marina, which is located separately within the park about 5 miles from the ramp.
The park offers several amenities for extended visits, including lodge accommodations, camping facilities at nearby Kendall Campground and Camp Earl Wallace (both within 10 miles), and marina dockage. Lake Cumberland is a substantial impoundment suitable for various water activities, making this a practical access point for both day trips and longer paddling excursions. For those interested in exploring more of the lake, General Burnside Island State Park—a unique island facility with its own boat ramp—is located south of Somerset, offering additional camping and recreation options.
