Lake Dorr Public Boat Ramp - Ocala National Forest

Located just south of Lake Dorr Recreation Area in the Ocala National Forest, this gently sloped launch site provides convenient access to Lake Dorr, one of the forest's largest and most scenic water bodies. The ramp includes a courtesy dock and is situated beneath mature oak hammocks on the lake's northwest shore. However, be prepared for rough road conditions leading to the ramp—a four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended for access.

Lake Dorr offers excellent paddling and fishing opportunities in a pristine forest setting. The recreation area is well-developed with nearby amenities, including the reservable Lake Dorr Campground and cabin rentals for those planning extended stays. Other campgrounds within 10 miles (Big Scrub, Big Bass) provide additional lodging options. This is an ideal base for kayakers and canoeists exploring the expansive waters of Lake Dorr or for boaters seeking bass fishing and backcountry recreation within the Ocala National Forest.
