Lake Dorr Recreation Area - Campground - Ocala National Forest

Lake Dorr Recreation Area, located on the northwest shore of Lake Dorr in the Ocala National Forest, offers a convenient boat ramp for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The facility is set beneath a scenic oak hammock canopy and includes a picnic area overlooking the water, making it a pleasant spot for both launching and shore-based activities.

The recreation area is part of a larger facility that accommodates RV camping, day-use visitors, and cabin rentals—all with direct lake access. Lake Dorr is known as one of the larger and prettier lakes within the Ocala National Forest, providing ample space for paddling, fishing, and swimming. The site is reservable through Recreation.gov, so plan ahead during peak seasons. Additional nearby camping options include Big Scrub Campground and Big Bass Campground, all within 10 miles, making this a good hub for extended paddling trips in the area.
