The lake has a mean depth of 31 feet and maximum depth of 140 feet, making it suitable for various water activities.

Paddlers should note that Lake Elmo Regional Park Reserve also offers Eagle Point Lake nearby, which provides canoe and kayak-only access if you prefer quieter waters away from motorized traffic. The lake is open to winter access, and the facility operates with open speed restrictions from noon to sunset.
