Lake Erie

This boat ramp access site in Anacortes provides year-round vehicle access to Lake Erie in Skagit County. The site features a boat ramp suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. Note that vehicle access is limited to regulated sport fishing seasons, so plan accordingly if visiting outside those periods. Hand launches are available for paddlers without vehicle access.

The access point offers a convenient gateway to explore the extensive waters of Lake Erie and the nearby Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. This 11,000-acre reserve features diverse habitats including seagrass meadows, tidal flats, salt marshes, and sloughs—excellent for paddling exploration and wildlife viewing. The site includes one parking lot, making it a straightforward launch location for day trips and recreational boating in the area.
