Lake Fort Phantom Hill is a 4,213-acre reservoir in Abilene offering multiple access points for boaters and paddlers. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 66 feet and has been impounded since 1938. This access site provides a multiple-lane boat ramp, lighted parking for approximately 50 vehicles, a courtesy dock, and picnic facilities. The ramp operates year-round and is suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats.
**Important Access Notes:** Four boat ramps are available when the lake is full; during low water periods, two additional ramps at Johnson Park provide alternative launch options. The park also features shore fishing access and nearby campgrounds. **All boaters are required by law to clean, drain, and dry their vessels and equipment before leaving the site to prevent the spread of zebra mussels and other aquatic invasive species.**
Johnson Park, located nearby, offers additional amenities including a designated kayak trail, playground, pavilions, and restrooms, making it a good option for paddlers seeking scenic paddling opportunities or those needing alternative facilities.
