This quarter-acre public access site offers free boat ramp access to Lake George via a dredged channel through the Volusia Bar—one of the few direct routes to reach Lake George without crossing the natural sandbar. The ramp is unpaved and leads into the navigable channel, making it a convenient entry point for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats. Parking is very limited at this location, so plan accordingly.
Lake George is a large, scenic expanse of the St. Johns River system known for fishing opportunities including perch, bass, and trout. The site includes basic amenities with a single bench rest area. For overnight trips, reservable campgrounds are available within 10 miles, including Hopkins Prairie Campground and Buck Lake Group Campground. The nearby Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge also offers excellent paddling opportunities for those interested in exploring protected wetland habitat and viewing migratory birds.
