About This Access Site
Located in Minneapolis just west of Lyndale Avenue and north of 50th Street, Lake Harriet's boat ramp provides convenient access to this 265-acre urban lake. The ramp features ample parking for vehicles and trailers nearby, making it easy to launch kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The lake connects to nearby water bodies including Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles through a chain of navigable waterways, offering paddlers options for longer excursions.

Lake Harriet is well-developed for recreation with excellent amenities including restrooms, a swimming beach, and a paved trail ringing the lake. The lake supports diverse fish species including pike, walleye, bass, and panfish, making it popular with anglers as well. There is no park entrance fee, and the site is accessible via public transit (MTC Routes 28 and 6) for those without vehicles, plus excellent wheelchair access including a fishing pier and grassy waterfront areas.
