Lake Hastings offers a public boat ramp in Hastings, Adams County, providing year-round access to the lake (weather permitting). The main boat ramp is located on the east side of the lake near South Shore Drive. There is no launch fee, though boaters operating motorized vessels are required to obtain a Nebraska state park permit ($7.00 for a daily permit). All visitors should note that park hours are 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
For kayakers and canoeists specifically, a dedicated kayak launch platform is available on the west side of Lake Hastings near South Shore Drive, offering an alternative to the main boat ramp. Since motors are permitted on the lake, paddlers should be prepared for motorized traffic.
