The Lake Holbrook (South) boat ramp provides free public access for launching and retrieving kayaks, canoes, and motorboats on Lake Holbrook, a 653-acre impoundment of the Sabine River system in Wood County. Located on Lankford Creek (a tributary of the Sabine River) approximately 3 miles northwest of Mineola, this access point is one of two free public ramps available on the lake. The lake features a maximum depth of 30 feet, making it suitable for various watercraft and water activities.
Paddlers should note that Lake Holbrook offers a calm-water paddling experience typical of impounded reservoirs. The site is part of Lake Holbrook Park, which also includes a swimming beach near the dam. While this access point is primarily boat-launch oriented, it provides a convenient starting point for exploring the broader lake system and accessing the Sabine River corridor.
