The Northeast boat ramp provides access to Lake Icaria, a 648-acre recreational lake in Adams County near Corning, Iowa. This ramp is conveniently located on the north side of the lake and serves as a primary launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters. The lake has a maximum depth of 30 feet and offers good conditions for paddling and fishing throughout the year.
**Important Regulations:** Lake Icaria prohibits jet skis and jet boats. Only outboard and inboard-outboard motors are permitted; pure inboard motors are not allowed. Paddlers should be aware of these motorboat restrictions when planning their visit. The nearby marina offers equipment rentals including kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards, as well as amenities like a fish cleaning station and bait/tackle supplies.
The lake is part of a larger 1,945-acre park facility with over 170 campsites (many with electricity), cabins, water access, restrooms, and showers. Ample parking is available at the ramp area. This makes Lake Icaria an accessible option for day-paddlers or multi-day trips with camping accommodations nearby.
