Lake Jane is a 153-acre public access point located on the south shore of the lake in Lake Elmo, Washington County, Minnesota. The DNR-owned boat ramp is situated off Lake Jane Trail and provides convenient launching for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats up to approximately 12-18 feet. There are no launch fees unless the access is located within a park requiring a vehicle permit. The lake has a maximum depth of 39 feet, making it suitable for various water activities.
Before launching, be aware that Lake Jane has surface use restrictions—check the rules posted at the access site. The lake does not have satisfactory areas for shore angling, so plan accordingly if you're interested in fishing. Anglers should note that largemouth bass fishing is catch-and-release only. The access site is well-positioned for boating, fishing, and paddling, with nearby recreation opportunities available through the Mississippi National River & Recreation Area, located about 10-15 miles away for those seeking additional paddling options.
