About This Access Site
This Michigan Department of Natural Resources boat access site, located just south of M-204, provides convenient public access to Lake Leelanau via the Lake Leelanau Narrows, connecting north and south sections of the lake. The site features a hard-surface ramp suitable for all trailerable watercraft, with adequate water depth (minimum 2.5-3 feet at 20 feet from shore) for safe launching and retrieval year-round.

Lake Leelanau is a substantial inland lake offering excellent paddling opportunities for kayakers and canoeists, with enough size to accommodate various water activities. The Narrows creates an interesting connection between the two lake sections, providing scenic paddling options. The location also puts paddlers within easy reach of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, featuring miles of Lake Michigan beaches, dramatic 450-foot bluffs, and extensive inland lake and forest recreation if you're planning a longer trip to the area.
