Lake Lou Unimproved Access provides boat ramp access to Lake Lou, a smaller lake located in the Ocala National Forest east of CR 314-A in Marion County. This is an unimproved facility best suited for kayakers, canoeists, and small boat fishing. The lake is situated within the scenic Chain of Lakes area, characterized by meandering wet prairie that offers a peaceful paddling experience ideal for exploring multiple connected lakes.
Expect this access point to be quieter than developed recreation sites in the forest, particularly on weekdays. Weekend use can be heavy, so plan accordingly. Several campground options are available nearby if you'd like to make a longer trip of it, including Lake Eaton Campground and group camp facilities within 10 miles. This location works well as a base for a day of paddling, fishing, or a multi-day camping and paddling adventure through the chain of lakes.
