About This Access Site
Lake Louise is a 214-acre lake in scenic Douglas County offering public boat access via a recently improved launch facility. The lake has a maximum depth of 33 feet, providing good conditions for kayaking, canoeing, and motorboating. The access site features a newly expanded concrete boat launch with an adjacent ADA-accessible floating dock, making it suitable for paddlers of all abilities. An expanded parking area accommodates vehicles with trailers, and amenities include a vaulted outhouse and informational kiosks.

To use this access site, visitors must obtain a park permit through Forestville/Mill Creek State Park ($7 daily, $35 annual, or $12 for handicapped access). Reservations and permits can be booked online or by calling 866-857-2757. The improved launch infrastructure, including a widened concrete ramp and floating dock, provides convenient entry and exit for both trailered boats and hand-launched paddlecraft. Anglers should note that the lake maintains natural fish populations without state stocking.
