About This Access Site
Located in North Liberty near the town of Solon in Johnson County, Lake Macbride State Park offers a state-maintained boat ramp and dock providing free access to the Iowa River via Coralville Lake. This is one of seven boat ramps available on the lake system, making it a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters exploring the area. The facility is part of Coralville Lake, a multi-use reservoir managed for flood control and recreation.

The park features modern amenities including picnic areas and a nearby beach, with additional services such as boat rentals available at the facility. Anglers will appreciate the designated 24-hour fishing access along a section of the shoreline. For those planning an extended visit, three reservable campgrounds are located within 10 miles: Linder Point, Sandy Beach, and Cottonwood Campground. The northern unit can be accessed via County Road F-16, located approximately 4 miles west of Solon.
