About This Access Site
Lake Monticello East provides convenient boat launch access to one of South Carolina's largest reservoirs, featuring a dedicated boat ramp located in Jenkinsville, Fairfield County. This 6,700-acre impoundment offers 54 miles of shoreline for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. Note that approximately 7.2 miles of shoreline within the Nuclear Exclusion Zone are strictly off-limits to the public. The lake reaches depths of up to 89 feet, with most recreational areas ranging from 17–25 feet deep.

The ramp is situated near a small facility where you can purchase supplies including propane, ice, fuel (including non-ethanol gas), boat batteries, motor oil, and live bait. You'll also find a covered picnic table overlooking the water, a playground, and a paved walking path. Site entry is to the left of the boat ramp. A 100-foot swim line marks the launch area, helping new paddlers orient themselves.

For camping nearby, Rocky Branch Seasonal Campground is available within 10 miles with reservation options. This is one of three boat ramps on the lake, making it a reliable access point for day trips or longer paddles across the reservoir's extensive waters.
