Lake Robinson is a pristine flatwater paddling destination located northwest of Greer in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. The boat ramp at J. Verne Smith Park on Mays Bridge Road provides convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters year-round. The lake is open from sunrise to sunset and welcomes both motorized and non-motorized watercraft. A boating permit is required and can be obtained at the Lake Wardens Office on-site.
The lake offers calm, scenic paddling around an impoundment created on the South Tyger River. In addition to paddling opportunities, the site features three fishing piers and rental shelters (wheelchair accessible), making it suitable for group outings and events. Note that fishing is prohibited in the dam area, and trespassing laws are strictly enforced. The nearby Carolina Sandhills National Wildlife Refuge provides additional recreational opportunities for those exploring the region.
