About This Access Site
This boat ramp provides convenient access to Lake Sakakawea, a large reservoir in north-central North Dakota near Riverdale off Highway 200. The access area is a popular day-use recreation spot featuring a boat ramp, bathroom facilities, and a fish cleaning station. Multiple ramps are available at nearby Lake Sakakawea State Park, including multi-lane and single-lane options with courtesy docks to assist with launching and landing.

Lake Sakakawea offers excellent conditions for kayaking, canoeing, and boating with beautiful scenery, numerous anchoring opportunities, and abundant recreational amenities including marina services and boat rentals. The lake's expansive size and calm waters make it suitable for a wide range of paddlers and boaters. Before visiting, check current water conditions and ramp usability, as factors like flooding or heavy rain can temporarily affect ramp operations.
