This boat ramp provides convenient access to Lake Sakakawea, a massive 178-mile-long reservoir on the Missouri River with 1,340 miles of shoreline. Lake Sakakawea State Park offers two ramps for launching: a multi-lane ramp on the west side and a single-lane ramp on the southeast side of the park. Courtesy docks are available at both locations, making it easy for kayakers and canoeists to access the water.
The Emmet area offers a popular day-use recreation site with basic facilities including bathroom access and a fish cleaning station. The park sits just outside Riverdale off Highway 200, providing straightforward access for launching paddling or boating trips. Note that ramp usability can be affected by weather events and water level fluctuations, so conditions may vary seasonally. For overnight trips, the nearby Downstream Campground (reservable) is located within 10 miles and offers camping options.
