Located just outside Riverdale off Highway 200 in McLean County, this Lake Sakakawea State Park access site offers convenient launching for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The facility features two boat ramps—a multi-lane ramp on the west side and a single-lane ramp on the southeast side—both with courtesy docks available. Basic amenities include bathroom facilities and a fish cleaning station, making this a popular day-use area for water access.
Lake Sakakawea is a massive reservoir on the Missouri River, stretching 178 miles long with 1,340 miles of shoreline, offering diverse paddling and boating opportunities. The area provides excellent scenery and numerous anchoring spots for extended exploration. Three nearby campgrounds—East Totten Trail, Wolf Creek, and Downstream—are reservable options for paddlers planning overnight trips.
