The park features two dedicated boat ramps with courtesy docks: a multi-lane ramp on the west side and a single-lane ramp on the southeast side. Both provide reliable access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats looking to explore this massive impoundment on the Missouri River.

Lake Sakakawea stretches 178 miles with 1,340 miles of scenic shoreline, making it ideal for extended paddling trips, day outings, and fishing. The park offers excellent facilities including bathroom amenities and a fish cleaning station.
