About This Access Site
Lake Sammamish State Park offers excellent water access via Sunset Beach, featuring an ADA-accessible ramp ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters. The launch area includes nine 12-by-30-foot ramps, multiple finger docks, parking for 250 vehicles with trailers, and restroom facilities. Paddlers can rent kayaks, paddleboards, and pedal boats on-site through Lake Sammamish Paddle Co., making this a convenient option for those without their own equipment.

For the best paddling conditions, launch early in the morning—waters tend to roughen after 11:00 a.m. as boat traffic increases. The park's extensive paved and natural trail system makes it a great destination for combining paddling with hiking or biking. Note that swimmers should use designated areas due to recreational boat traffic. The surrounding park also features a playground, snack bar, and wetland trails where you may spot wildlife like great blue herons and bald eagles.
