**Location & Access:** Lake Sara is located approximately 5 miles southwest of Effingham in Effingham County, Illinois. The Lake Sara Marina offers a public boat ramp facility with amenities including slip rentals, fuel dock, and boat rentals (jet skis and pontoons available). The lake is suitable for kayaking, canoeing, and all recreational boating activities.
**Requirements & Fees:** All watercraft using Lake Sara require an Effingham Water Authority (EWA) sticker in addition to a $5 ramp fee. EWA stickers can be purchased at multiple locations around the lake, including Lake Sara Marina, Larson's Landing Marina, Blue Gill Marina, Anthony Acres, and Mach 1 gas station on Highway 32/33. Be sure to obtain your permits before launching to avoid any issues with lake patrol.
**Recreational Opportunities:** Beyond paddling and boating, Lake Sara offers a full range of water recreation including fishing, water skiing, and swimming.
