About This Access Site
This boat ramp on Lake Shelbyville offers convenient access to central Illinois's premier recreational lake. The launch features a four-lane ramp adjacent to a 175-car parking lot, providing ample space for trailers and vehicles. A fee is assessed at this U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-developed access area, though free gravel ramps are also available elsewhere on the lake. Rental boats, motors, and full boating supplies are available at private marinas around the lake for those without their own equipment.

Lake Shelbyville is a large, well-developed reservoir ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters of all skill levels. The lake offers diverse water sports opportunities and is popular for both recreation and fishing. The Sullivan access point is conveniently located near two campgrounds—Sullivan Marina and Campground and Wilborn Creek Group Camp (reservable)—making it an excellent base for multi-day paddling trips or family outings.
