About This Access Site
The Findlay boat ramp provides convenient access to Lake Shelbyville, a major recreational reservoir in central Illinois. This well-developed access point features a four-lane launching ramp adjacent to a 175-car parking lot, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. Note that a fee is assessed at this U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-developed access area; some alternative free access points with gravel ramps are available elsewhere on the lake if you prefer to avoid the fee.

Lake Shelbyville offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities across its expansive waters, with rental boats and motors available from several private marinas around the lake. These marinas also stock boating and fishing supplies if you need equipment or provisions. The nearby Wilborn Creek Group Camp and Sullivan Marina and Campground (both within 10 miles) provide convenient overnight accommodation options for extended paddling trips or water-based vacations in the area.
