Located on the southeast side of Lake Sherwood north of Highway 21 in Nekoosa, this public boat ramp provides convenient access to a 216-acre impoundment in Adams County. The lake has a maximum depth of 27 feet and is part of the Fourteenmile Creek system within the Wisconsin River Flowage network. Note that water clarity is low, which is typical for this chain-of-lakes system.
This access point works well for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters looking to explore the lake and connected waterways. Lake Sherwood supports populations of panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye. The area is situated near other recreational opportunities including the Wisconsin River islands in nearby Wisconsin Rapids, making it a good base for exploring the broader 84,000-mile Wisconsin river system.
