About This Access Site
The Ravia boat ramp provides access to Lake Texoma, one of the largest U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoirs and the 12th largest in the country. Located in Johnston County near the Red River arm of the lake, this ramp serves as a launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats accessing the expansive 927-mile Red River system. The lake itself is a popular destination supporting diverse boating activities, from paddling to sailing and power boating.

The Red River feeding Lake Texoma is a major waterway with significant flow characteristics—averaging over 68,000 cubic feet per second with an average velocity of 5.93 feet per second. Paddlers should be aware this is a major river system (classified as Stream Order 9) with substantial current and volume. The average gradient of 1.6 feet per mile means water movement is consistent, particularly important to consider when planning routes and understanding conditions on the reservoir and any downstream sections.

The Ravia access point is conveniently positioned near Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge, offering opportunities for wildlife viewing and exploration. Additional amenities and detailed facility information (such as parking, restrooms, and fees) can be found through Lake Texoma's comprehensive network of Corps of Engineers facilities, marinas, and state park access points around the reservoir.
