Lake Travis

This boat ramp provides access to Lake Travis, a major reservoir on the Colorado River in the Austin area. Located near Lago Vista in Travis County, the ramp is operated by the Lower Colorado River Authority and is accessible year-round for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. Be aware that entrance and/or launch fees may apply, and water levels can vary significantly—during drought conditions or flood events, ramp usability may be affected, so checking current lake levels before your trip is recommended.

The Lake Travis area offers excellent recreational opportunities beyond paddling, including access to the scenic Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge nearby. The Lower Colorado River Authority operates 15 parks across the reservoir with facilities including campgrounds, picnic areas, and shoreline fishing opportunities.
