About This Access Site
Lake Wawasee Public Access is a well-equipped public boat ramp located in the southeast corner of this popular Indiana lake near Syracuse in Kosciusko County. The ramp accommodates a wide variety of watercraft including kayaks, canoes, fishing boats, pontoons, and pleasure boats, making it an excellent launching point for paddlers of all types. The site features a dedicated dock area alongside the ramp for convenient loading and unloading.

The access area is part of the state-owned Wawasee Family Fishing Site, which offers picnic facilities and a relaxing outdoor environment. A significant amenity for boaters is the free shore-side holding tank disposal facility available at the DNR boat ramp—essential for those with equipped vessels. Additional marina services, including boat rentals and typical amenities, are available nearby at Wawasee Marina in the northwest corner of the lake, though private marinas may charge nominal fees for ramp access.

Lake Wawasee itself provides ample recreational opportunities with good conditions for paddling, fishing, and general boating. The public access location makes this an accessible starting point for exploring the lake's 3,360 acres of water.
