Lake Whitney State Park offers a well-maintained 2-lane boat ramp for accessing the Brazos River impoundment at Lake Whitney. Located in Whitney, Hill County, the ramp is open year-round and serves as a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters exploring this popular Central Texas reservoir. Day-use fees are charged April through September. The park features additional amenities including a fish cleaning shelter, camp store with supplies and bait, and nearby picnic and swimming areas.
The lake covers a large surface area with deep, clear water—ideal conditions for paddling and boating. With multiple recreation areas around the lake managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Texas Parks & Wildlife, and Hill County, you'll find plenty of options for camping, day use, and exploring. Note that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers no longer accepts cash payments at USACE-operated facilities; plan accordingly. For directions, take FM 933 north from Whitney and turn left on FM 1713 Spur—the park is at the road's end.
