About This Access Site
Located in Maurice K. Goddard State Park near New Vernon in Mercer County, Lake Wilhelm #2 offers a well-maintained public access point to Sandy Creek and Lake Wilhelm. The facility features a four-lane boat launching ramp with two floating piers, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and larger motorized boats. The grassy parking area includes 250 general parking spaces and 121 dedicated car/trailer parking spaces, along with a restroom facility with running water.

The site is ideal for launching onto the lake, which provides calm-water paddling opportunities. A picnic area with pavilion is available on the eastern side of the property. From the ramp, paddlers can explore both the lake and Sandy Creek. Additional access points and trailheads are available by heading west on PA Route 358, then following Lake Wilhelm Road and Creek Road, where three additional parking areas serve the southern launch area roughly 2-5 miles away.

Mooring and marina services are available seasonally (May 1 through October 31), including a fueling station. This access point is best suited for paddlers seeking calm-water recreation on the lake rather than creek paddling with current.
