About This Access Site
Lake William C. Bowen Access Site 2 provides boat ramp access to this 1,534-acre reservoir on the South Pacolet River in Spartanburg County. The site is located near SC Highway 9 and is part of Anchor Park, a recreation area managed by Spartanburg Water. Multiple boat ramps are available at this location, making it convenient for launching kayaks, canoes, and larger motorboats. The park also features picnic pavilions, a playground, waterfront fishing access, and the Lake Bowen Warden's Office.

The lake offers approximately 33 miles of shoreline and is primarily used as a drinking water supply for Spartanburg County residents. While recreation is secondary to its water supply function, the reservoir provides a large, protected paddling area suitable for recreational boating and fishing. Paddlers should be aware that this is a working water supply facility, and conditions may vary seasonally. For current access information, hours, and any specific regulations, contact the Lake Bowen Warden's Office or Spartanburg Water directly before your visit.
