Lake Willoughby's public boat access is located on Route 5A on the northeast shore near Westmore in Orleans County. This gravel ramp accommodates medium-sized boats and provides launch access to a 1,653-acre lake set in the scenic Appalachian Mountains. The access area is conveniently located near local services, making it a practical entry point for day trips.

Paddlers should note that Lake Willoughby is a popular destination, especially on weekends, so arriving early is recommended to secure parking and launching space. About half of the shoreline is developed with private homes and docks, so plan your route accordingly. The lake offers good paddling opportunities for kayaks and canoes, with scenic mountain views, though water conditions and traffic can vary seasonally.
