**Access Overview:**
Lakeside Day Use Area offers a well-maintained two-lane boat ramp on Lake O' the Pines near Ferrell's Bridge Dam in Marion County, Texas. The ramp is situated in a protected cove area right next to the dam, providing excellent shelter from wind and weather—ideal conditions for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. A dock extends into the water, and the facility includes additional amenities such as swimming beaches and a volleyball court, making it suitable for group outings and family gatherings.

**Getting There & Facilities:**
The access site is located at 5177 FM 726, Jefferson, Texas 75657. From Jefferson, travel 3.8 miles northwest on Highway 49, then turn left onto FM 729 for 3.5 miles, and left again onto FM 726 for 3.5 miles to the entrance. Lake O' the Pines spans approximately 18,700 acres of water across the piney woods of Northeast Texas, offering excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Recreation

Boating, fishing, water sports, and wildlife viewing are all popular pastimes at the campground. Hunting opportunities for white-tailed deer, waterfowl, and small game are available on nearby public lands.

Lake O' the Pines fishing includes largemouth, spotted, and white bass along with crappie, catfish, and sunfish. In addition to boat fishing there are areas for bank fishing along the shore and below the dam along Big Cypress Bayou.

Birdwatchers are also encouraged to bring their binoculars as numerous resident and migratory bird species inhabit the area. Bald eagle sightings are a common occurrence in fall and winter and they are occasionally sighted in spring and summer. Facilities
Lakeside Park offers one large group picnic shelter, complete with electric hookups, that can accommodate up to 100 guests.

A boat ramp, dock and swimming beaches, and a volleyball court are also provided, making the area perfect for large parties or family functions.Natural Features
Lakeside Day use is located near the Ferrell's Bridge Dam. Lake O' the Pines includes about 18,700 acres of water and 9,000 acres of land.

The lake was created by the construction of the Ferrell's Bridge Dam on the Big Cypress Bayou. The reservoir was originally created as part of the overall plan for flood control in the Red River Basin below Denison Dam in Oklahoma, and has now become a recreational oasis for outdoor enthusiasts.
