Lakeview Court

Located in Prairie du Chien, the Lakeview Court ramp provides public access to Pool 9 of the Mississippi River. The ramp features a concrete slab surface and is situated within the river park. To reach the facility, take US 49 Business to the second traffic light and turn right; you'll pass the courthouse and WWI memorial on your way in. This location is convenient for launching onto one of North America's major waterways.

The Mississippi River at this point is a substantial, powerful waterway with an average flow of approximately 685,000 cubic feet per second and an average velocity of 11 feet per second. Paddlers and boaters should be prepared for significant current and boat traffic. Pool 9 offers scenic views within the Upper Mississippi River Valley between Genoa, Wisconsin and Lynxville, Wisconsin. The area is also near Effigy Mounds National Monument, making it an excellent base for exploring both the river and nearby cultural heritage sites.

Anglers will find excellent freshwater fishing opportunities in the region, with access to over 4,000 miles of streams. Nearby amenities include West Lake Park and other recreational facilities.
