About This Access Site
Lakewood Landing is a boat launch site on the scenic Toccoa River in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest of northern Georgia. Situated on the north side of the 3,290-acre Lake Blue Ridge, this facility provides convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and power boaters to explore the tranquil lake and river.

The Lakewood Landing boat ramp is well-maintained and can accommodate a variety of watercraft. An activity pass is required to use the launch, which can be purchased through the Recreation.gov website or mobile app. Nearby campgrounds at Sandy Bottoms Recreation Area and Toccoa River Sandy Bottoms offer overnight options for those looking to extend their time on the water.

The Toccoa River is a popular destination for paddlers, with calmer sections through Lake Blue Ridge as well as more challenging whitewater downstream. Anglers also frequent the river and lake in search of bass, bream, catfish, perch, and crappie. Swimmers and boaters are advised to stay within the marked areas for safety. Overall, Lakewood Landing is an excellent access point for enjoying the natural beauty and recreational opportunities of this scenic North Georgia watershed.
