About This Access Site
The Langtry Road Bridge boat ramp provides access to the Pecos River in remote southwestern Texas, just upstream of where the Pecos meets the Rio Grande near Amistad National Recreation Area. This access point is located on Highway 90 near the historic Pecos River High Bridge and serves as a launch for paddlers exploring this scenic stretch of river before it enters the reservoir. The ramp is situated on the south side of the bridge in Langtry, Val Verde County.

This section of the Pecos River offers good paddling for kayakers and canoeists, with substantial flow and width in the river corridor. The surrounding landscape features native vegetation and scenic bluffs typical of the Big Bend region. Be aware that this is a remote location with limited nearby services—plan accordingly with supplies and fuel.

**Important Note for Campers:** The adjacent Amistad National Recreation Area permits dispersed camping along most of its shoreline, but camping is prohibited within ¼ mile of developed areas including boat ramps and public roads. Always verify current regulations with Amistad National Recreation Area or local rangers before planning your trip, as rules and water conditions can change seasonally.
