About This Access Site
Lanier Park offers a convenient boat ramp for accessing Lake Lanier and the Chattahoochee River. Located at the southern tip of the lake, near the Buford Dam, this launch site is part of the larger Buford Dam Park recreation area.

Lake Lanier is a popular 38,000-acre reservoir known for its clear, blue waters and variety of recreational activities. The lake and adjacent Chattahoochee River provide excellent paddling opportunities for kayakers and canoeists. The river flows through the northern Atlanta metro region, with a relatively mild gradient and varied scenery.

The Lanier Park boat ramp provides direct access to launch small watercraft onto the lake. Amenities include picnic areas, but the site does not have overnight camping. Visitors should be prepared for potentially heavy traffic and crowded conditions, especially during peak seasons, as this is a well-used access point for the popular lake. Coordinates and directions are provided to help locate the launch site.
