Latimer's Landing is a Mason County Park in Shelton offering year-round access to Pickering Passage and Case Inlet. The facility features a paved boat ramp that was extended in 2008 to improve accessibility at low tide, plus a boarding float and beach launch option. With 30-40 gravel parking spaces, picnic tables, and vault toilets, it's a convenient starting point for kayakers and boaters exploring South Puget Sound. There is no launch fee, and the site is open 24 hours.
Paddlers should be aware that tidal currents and winds can significantly affect conditions in Pickering Passage, so plan accordingly. The site's small footprint (.59 acres) means parking may fill during peak use periods. Note that there are no showers, drinking water, or hose facilities on-site. This is an ideal launch for exploring the protected waters of Case Inlet and accessing broader Puget Sound.
