About This Access Site
Laurel Hill Lake Boat Ramp provides public access to this scenic 63-acre reservoir located within Laurel Hill State Park in Somerset County's Appalachian Mountains. The ramp is approximately 25 feet wide, accommodating boats and watercraft of various sizes. The lake features 30 mooring sites and two boat launches, making it well-suited for recreational boating and paddling activities.

Paddlers and anglers will find multiple access options in the area. The Hemlock Trail parallels the stream from the head of Laurel Hill Lake upstream to Buck Run, with parking available at both ends—offering an excellent route for kayakers and canoeists seeking scenic paddling. The stream can also be accessed via Conestoga Boy Scout Camp/Buck Run Roads when conditions permit (seasonal closures apply during winter months). The wider, calmer waters of the lake itself are ideal for recreational boating and fishing.

For the most current information on amenities, seasonal access restrictions, and any fees, contact Laurel Hill State Park directly or visit the Pennsylvania Parks & Forests website.
