Lava Lake Campground

Lava Lake Campground provides boat ramp access to 368-acre Lava Lake, located at 4,740 feet elevation on the eastern slopes of the Cascade Range, about 25 miles south-southwest of Bend. The campground sits directly on the lake's shore, surrounded by mature lodgepole pine forests with scenic lava outcroppings and bull rushes lining the water. Both motorized and non-motorized boating are permitted, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and fishing boats.

The access site includes a day-use area and boat ramp for launching, plus a fish cleaning station for anglers. The 44-site campground offers camping options ranging from tent-only to small RV sites, making it convenient for extended paddling trips. Lava Lake is known as one of the region's better rainbow trout fisheries, though it's also popular for general recreation and scenic exploration. The site is accessible via the scenic Cascade Lakes Highway (Route 46), approximately 38.4 miles from Bend.
