About This Access Site
Lavonia Park offers convenient access to Lavon Lake on the east shore via two 4-lane boat ramps. Located north of Wylie, the site is easy to find: from Texas Highway 78 north of Lavon, turn west on FM 6 and follow signs to the ramps. One ramp is located inside the park (which includes a courtesy dock), while another public ramp sits just outside the park entrance. Note that you do not need to pay an entrance fee to access the public boat ramps, though a day use fee applies if using other park facilities like picnic areas or the swim beach.

The area is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and features a park attendant on duty. Lavonia Park itself is a full-service facility with 38 RV campsites (30 amp hookups available), making it suitable for extended trips. The lake supports fishing for channel catfish, crappie, and striped bass, and paddlers and boaters can enjoy recreational activities throughout the day use area.
